Robert Hislop

Robert Hislop is a Brisbane-based composer, orchestrator, and musical comedian dedicated to a career in film, television, and musical theatre. A versatile storyteller, he recently graduated from the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS), where he scored diverse student films ranging from atmospheric dramas to the musical short Interlude. His early passion for the craft was nurtured through productions at the University of Queensland and further elevated by a prestigious Topology Launchpad Mentorship, during which he completed his first full-length musical, Great Expectations. His professional momentum includes an ongoing collaboration with director Derek Yang, resulting in the micro-budget musical film The Wing Girl which is now streaming on Amazon Prime. Looking ahead, Hislop is set to refine his creative voice at NYU Tisch’s prestigious Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program, aiming to become a leading international voice in stage and screen musicals.
